About Eirian

Hello all and welcome to Cosplay for Life! This place is where you can find information about cosplay and the many ways to explore and search for all your cosplay wants. This ranges from wigs to full costumes. All the information you need to start out as a beginner cosplayer is right here, and even those with experience can find something they can enjoy around here, so go ahead and take a look. Don’t be shy. I promise I don’t bite. 😉

So what’s my story?

Ever since I was a teen, cosplay was something I was fascinated with. However, I was highly attracted even more so to Vocaloids, especially Hatsune Miku. Listening to numerous songs and watching numerous people dress up in the different modules Hatsune Miku has, was and still is a very fascinating thing to me to this day.

The first time I ever dressed up, I remember being so, so nervous. I cosplayed Hatsune Miku for obvious reasons lol. I love to cosplay. I purchased my first costume. I didn’t know what to expect for my first cosplay. I made my brother go to the convention with me in the hope that I would be just a bit less nervous. It makes things a lot less nerve wracking when you have someone to share the experience with, so I highly recommend bringing a friend or family member.

My first experience was a blast. People approached me and asked for photos. It was one of the first times I felt like actually having my picture taken. Although, my first attempt in cosplay I felt like I looked like a hot mess because of lack of understanding lol. Regardless of that, it was a blast. It gave me a rush of adrenaline. I want to share these experiences with everyone so that they too can see the world of cosplay as I grow.

Why do I care?

As a fellow cosplayer, I know that when I first started out I had no clue where to even begin. I thought, “Well I could just make my own.” Little did I know, that takes so much time and effort, even more so since I was a total newb. I had no idea where to even search except the internet of course lol. I came across a world of things I never knew about cosplay, materials, fabric, makeup and more artistic abilities than I knew of. I wish someone had informed me of even just the smallest bit of information so I could start somewhere.

There are a million different things I have learned about on my journey as a cosplayer. I’ve done a lot of fabric shopping, prop testing and making, makeup practicing, styling and everything I could do in order to help further along my understanding of not only cosplay but the skills required in order to understand the why and how things mesh together.

What do I gain?

This is why I’m here now. I’m here to help those seeking a place to start. Of course, as I grow, I will share my knowledge with everyone here. I’m no expert by any means, but this is a small way I can share my experiences with others who may not know what to expect aside from the vast amount of fun. I can help others learn about things from cheap and effective means for making outfits all the way to purchasing wigs and makeup, or even just outright buying an entire costume. There’s never anything wrong with that. It’s the fun that matters most.

If you ever need a hand or have any questions, feel free to leave them below in the comments, and I will be more than happy to help you out.

Happy Exploring,

Eirian Silver
