Welcome to Cosplay

An amazing world to become involved in.

Hello and welcome all! Hopefully, you’re here to discover the numerous ways to finally dip your feet into cosplay and start from the very basics of it all or even refine your own skills. Now, this is mainly targeted towards those who are starting out, but there is plenty to explore for anyone who is a residential cosplayer.

First things first, in case anyone here doesn’t know what the term cosplay stands for or what exactly it is, cosplay is short for the two words costume play. A cosplayer is a person who wears various costumes that have either been bought, made or pieced together for the purpose of entertainment, whether it’s for one’s own entertainment or the entertainment of others. This is how I define cosplay at its most basic level.

I personally became involved with cosplay when I was 14. I saw these images of people just dressing up and having fun while taking photos as anime, gaming, and other fictional characters. This had intrigued me so much that I had grown a deep fascination for it.

It was hard at first for my family to really understand what exactly cosplay is. This led to being the black sheep of the family. They do understand it now and also have grown a fascination to it. However, they don’t dress up or participate in the activities surrounding cosplay.

Despite that, I have now been into cosplay for 10 years. However, I’ve only dressed up for 3 years. I finally took the plunge and bought my first outfit. I was nervous at first but quickly warmed up to it as I wasn’t the only one dressed up at the convention I had gone to. Your first experience with it may be nerve wracking, exciting or a combination of both. This soon goes away once you start to enjoy yourself.

So why am I telling you this? I want to help you out. I didn’t really receive any help at the time, and with so much technology at our disposal, knowledge is unlimited. Plus, learning from experience is also a way to go.

Without further ado, welcome to my site and feel free to look around. If you have any questions or comments, let me know below.
